The only one thing I would say is that it is a shame that the sun canopy cannot be zipped to the awning, but with king poles the awning door can be used to create one. In fact on our recent camping trip we made use of both (thanks to the speed that they can be erected and taken down) with the extension being used for the first couple of days to ward off the wet and windy weather, and then the sun canopy for the remainder of the time when the sun came out.

We also purchased to sun canopy as well as the awning both of which zip attach to the main tent and provide a fantastic amount of additional space.
There is plenty of ventilation and storage built in. With 4 bedroom pods in total (two can be linked together for extra space) we found that there was still plenty of space within the main living area, and with the fourth bedroom being removable this space can be increased still further.Īn internal door, which can be folded back out of the way, separates the inner living area (with its sewn in groundsheet) from the outer living area which is ideal for cooking and eating. I have always owned Vango tents and have never been disappointed with their performance and I can say that we are not disappointed by the Illusion 800 either. The only thing I would add would be a way to open the windows however having said that there is plenty of air flow thanks to the sides and the front of the tent. Last year model made it incredibly better for an extra £50. Extremely spacious and extremely easy to put up, without rushing it took me less than 25 mins including pegging. First purchase of a Vango and first inflatable tent and I have to admit it did not let down. I am really sorry to see it go and realise that we stand to loose an awful lot on this sale but go it has to hence the bargain basement price of £1100 ono for the lot. Set up time is just 20 minutes! it packs into a strong cotton bag with handy wheels at one end and two very strong handles.

It has amazing stability and can be used with confidence in high winds, plus gices very roomy accommodation, sleeping up to 6 people comfortably, although we used it for just 3 of us which was pure luxury! It easily withstood side gales of 70mph gusts on Exmoor which flattened many tents around us. It is in excellent condition with only slight fading due to a total of 8 weeks camping. This little lot today would set you back around £2500 or more.

Included with the sale is the optional awning extension which adds a hugely useful storage area big enough for several pushbikes or kitchen set up AND the optional sun awning dedicated to this superb tent.Īlso included are the carpets and footprints for the tent plus a rapid inflation compact electric pump and gauge as well as the manual pump AND a spare beam bladder. It's seen just 3 seasons camping and when bought was Vango's top of the range polycotton air beam and cost £1800. This is just in time for summer family camping holidays and will set you back way less than one weeks rent for a holiday cottage! Due to a serious back injury, I can no longer use this tent as lifting it into or from the car, even with my wife helping, is no longer an option.
